The Chamber of Commerce idea is a concept found only where private initiative and free enterprise exist. Today there are more than 5,000 such organizations in the country. In recent years, chambers of commerce have become more involved in the overall development of a community and its quality of life, governmental affairs at all levels, economic development and urban planning.
Today, the Blount County-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce enjoys a growing membership and influence because of its effective programming and broad range of activities. Your chamber, by combining all community development functions into one county-wide organization has added even more effectiveness and capabilities. Most important, the chamber has realized a coordinated effort with all the important elements necessary to solve many complex problems.
When we as a County work together, we can make great things happen. When we work together, make this community we live in an even better place to live. Nothing that happens at the Chamber happens without the work of a very dedicated group of men and women who comprise the Blount County-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. These men and women don't just give up one hour a month for a board meeting, they give up hours and hours of their own time to make events such as the Covered Bridge Festival, Blount County Christmas Parade, the Annual Banquet and all Chamber events such a success. They work together not only for the greater good of the Chamber, but for the greater good of Blount County. These men and women come from all across Blount County and they represent each and every community in Blount County. They do this for no reason other than that they love Blount County and want to make it an even better place to live.
And, that can be said for the entire membership of the Blount County-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce. Each of our businesses and individuals have dedicated themselves to this community and to making Blount County what it is today. We all have the same goal: continue working together to make even greater things happen!
The Blount County-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce has always had tremendous support from our business community and we are always looking for ways to not only improve our community, but also the Chamber. For this reason, we introduced the Sustaining Partnership Program in 2013. Through the contributions made by our Sustaining Partners, the Chamber can expand and develop new programs that will make a difference in our business community and our county. The Chamber thanks these companies for their support.
